When I was on my hunt for a Les Paul, I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy a Black Beauty or a gold-top. A couple of years ago one of my music store clients, Sides Family Music of Williamsport, PA, was having a sale on several of their Gibson guitars. So, being a great believer in supporting all of my clients, I bought both a black one and a gold-top. Thankfully, the gold-top had P90 pickups, giving me the perfect justification why I needed two Les Pauls; perfect for me, but not for my wife.
