A few years ago I helped my fellow CPA friend Allan Greenburg, V.P. of Finance of music retailer Music & Arts Center, acquire a local school music store chain. After the deal closed, Allan and his boss sent me this black Fender Stratocaster as a “thanks” for my help in resolving some tax issues that stood in the way of the deal happening. When I brought the guitar home my wife asked me “Do you really need another guitar?” I said “yes” under the theory “If you ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer.”
